Introducing the MB-SR50N EI Mullion-Transom System: Fire-Resistant Excellence

The MB-SR50N EI mullion-transom system is meticulously engineered for constructing lightweight fire-resistant curtain and filling walls, offering fire resistance classes EI15, EI30, EI45, and EI60 in accordance with standards PN-EN 1364-3 and PN-EN 1364-1. It is also well-suited for glazed roof coverings with a fire resistance class RE30, as per standard PN-EN 1365-2. Notably, this system is classified as non-fire-propagating (NFP).

Description

Key Features:

Robust Load-Bearing Structure: The system is based on a sturdy grid structure composed of vertical mullions and horizontal transoms with a box-shaped section, each featuring a characteristic width of 50mm. These profiles are efficiently connected and create an aluminum grid structure, securely mounted to the building's construction using appropriate brackets.

Fire-Resistant Inserts: To achieve fireproof properties, mullions and transoms are equipped with specialized fireproof inserts. These inserts consist of uniquely shaped aluminum profiles that serve as reinforcement, shielded with fireproof materials.

Cost-Efficient Design: The system leverages standard mullion and transom profiles from the MB-SR50N system, enhancing cost-efficiency and ensuring a consistent appearance. The mullions range from 85 to 225mm in depth, and transoms vary in depth from 69.5 to 189.5mm.

Efficient Water Deflection and Ventilation: The system allows for overlapping connections between transoms and mullions, promoting effective water deflection and proper ventilation of the inter-pane space.

Optimal Thermal and Acoustic Insulation: The incorporation of a continuous thermal break (insulator) made of "HPVC" material and profiled EPDM glazing gaskets ensures excellent thermal and acoustic insulation. Glass panels or other infills are securely fitted into glazing grooves formed within mullion and transom profiles, secured with a clamping strip. An expanding tape is used in the glazing grooves of mullions and transoms for added security.

Safety Measures: The system is designed to protect fireproof glass panels or infills from detachment during a fire, with special gaskets used for angular walls.

Customized Design: Each MB-SR50N EI wall should be designed according to project-specific requirements. The design specifies aluminum profiles for mullions and transoms, fastening accessories, points for connecting the wall to the building structure, and other wall elements, including sealing and drainage methods, to ensure compliance with applicable standards.

Expansion Joints: The system can accommodate thermal expansion through vertical expansion joints placed at each floor level.

The MB-SR50N EI mullion-transom system offers a robust, cost-efficient, and fire-resistant solution for curtain and filling walls, making it ideal for a wide range of architectural applications. Its flexibility and fire-resistant capabilities ensure its suitability for various projects. For more information and tailored solutions, please contact us.
