Introducing the Innovative MB-104 Passive Window and Door System for Passive Buildings

The MB-104 Passive window and door system, equipped with an advanced thermal break, stands as the ideal choice for passive buildings, offering exceptional thermal insulation properties. Tailored to accommodate various architectural elements like windows, porch enclosures, shop windows, and spatial structures, this system excels in thermal and sound insulation, water and air tightness, and structural integrity, surpassing the most stringent industry regulations and standards.

Description

Key Features of the MB-104 Passive Window and Door System:

  1. Certification by the Passive House Institute: Our windows and doors hold certification from the esteemed Passive House Institute in Darmstadt, known for promoting passive house construction, setting our products apart.

  2. Outstanding Thermal Efficiency: Doors and windows equipped with a two-chamber glass panel and a plastic frame between glass panels achieve excellent heat transfer coefficients, with Uw values as low as 0.80 W/(m²K). Specific coefficients for windows and door values can be found in the Technical Description.

  3. Sleek and Streamlined Design: The constructional depth of our window profiles (95 mm for the frame and 104 mm for the sash) creates a seamless exterior appearance. For doors, the leaf aligns perfectly with the frame, offering a flush, unbroken surface inside.

  4. Standardised Structure: Featuring a standardised door and window structure, eliminating the need for non-standard operations during production. The profiles boast a three-chamber construction with insulating chambers between thermal spacers, available in various widths.

  5. Multiple Thermal Insulation Options: The MB-104 Passive system offers a choice of two options for windows and three for doors, each with varying thermal insulation capabilities. The MB-104 Passive SI and MB-104 Passive SI+ models feature high-performance EPS insulation inserts within compound profiles. Meanwhile, the MB-104 Passive AERO version employs innovative inserts with superior thermal insulation properties.

  6. Cutting-Edge Insulation Materials: The MB-104 Passive AERO version is fitted with innovative inserts made of materials with exceptional thermal insulation properties, marking a pioneering move in the use of insulation materials within aluminium door and window systems.

  7. Exceptional Tightness: Achieving high tightness to water penetration and air infiltration is possible through the special shape of a 2-component central gasket with a cellular insulating part, as well as glazing and closing gaskets employing compression seals.

  8. Secure Installation: The closed shape of glazing strips, available in both Standard and Prestige versions, allows for secure installation of infills, significantly simplifying the fabrication of burglar-proof structures. Positioning rollers made of EPDM facilitate the fitting of strips in the door or window frame.

  9. Invisible Gaskets: Internal glazing gaskets are deep-fitted in glazing strips, ensuring they are hardly visible from the outside.

  10. Versatile Glazing Ranges: A wide glazing range accommodates window frames and door leaves, making it suitable for various two-chamber soundproof or burglar-proof glass panels available in the market.

  11. Hardware Compatibility: Standard Euro grooves enable the accommodation of a wide range of hardware types available for aluminium and plastic windows. Concealed and traditional hinges can be fitted, and handles can be selected with or without an escutcheon.

  12. Customizable Drainage: Profiles can feature concealed or decorative caps for drainage.

  13. Diverse Profile Options: Compound profiles of the MB-104 Passive SI version can undergo powder coating or anodic oxidation (without EPS inserts). Meanwhile, profiles of the MB-104 Passive AERO version must be powder-coated and oxidised before crimping of thermal spacers.

  14. Flexible Corner Solutions: Corner options include elements made from extruded profiles or elements injected under pressure, allowing for crimping or spinning using 2-component Coralglue.

  15. Efficient Door Sills: Door sills are designed for easy dismantling without unscrewing other door elements, simplifying their installation and maintenance.

  16. Astragals for Enhanced Design: Doors and windows may include astragals applied to the glass panel for added aesthetics.

  17. Simplified Fabrication: The fabrication process is streamlined for high efficiency, reducing production time.

  18. Comprehensive Tooling: Various tools, such as drilling templates, presses, or blanking dies, can be used for most operations. All tooling elements applicable in the MB-104 Passive system are detailed in the "Tooling" section.

  19. Extended Dimensions: The maximum dimensions of window sashes far exceed standard values, with windows accommodating Hs max=2.9 m and Ls max=1.7 m, and doors supporting Hs max=3 m and Ls max=1.4 m, with substantial sash and leaf weights.

  20. Decorative Options: Doors may feature leaves with decorative insulation panels.

  21. System Compatibility: The MB-104 Passive system seamlessly integrates with other systems produced by Aluprof, especially the MB-86 system. This compatibility allows for the application of numerous shared elements, such as glazing strips, gaskets, hardware, and most accessories, across different systems.
