Introducing the MB-SR50N HI+ System: Lightweight Curtain Walls for Optimal Performance

The MB-SR50N HI+ system is thoughtfully designed for the construction and execution of lightweight curtain walls, ideal for suspended or filling applications, as well as roofs, skylights, and various spatial structures. It features a load-bearing structure composed of vertical (mullions) and horizontal (transoms) aluminium profiles with a box section, expertly connected and complemented by accessories designed for sealing and structural cohesion. These load-bearing profiles maintain a consistent 50mm width on the interior side of the facade. Meanwhile, clamping strips that support glazing panels and masking strips of diverse shapes form the exterior side of the facade.

Description

Key Features:

Versatile Compatibility: The MB-SR50N HI+ system is known for its seamless compatibility with other facade and door/window systems offered by ALUPROF S.A., ensuring design consistency across your projects.

Robust Connections: The system relies on specially designed connecting members to join profiles, with T-type connecting members for mullion-transom connections. These components effectively transfer loads between various elements, ensuring structural integrity.

Thermal Insulation: The system is equipped with a proven PE insulator to enhance thermal insulation parameters, optimizing the thermal and sound insulation characteristics of the facade. This contributes to energy efficiency and occupant comfort.

Expansion Joints: Expansion joints are incorporated to compensate for horizontal and vertical movements of the facade, which may result from thermal expansion of aluminum profiles and deformations in the load-bearing structure. These expansion joints also account for dimensional tolerances and installation discrepancies.

Water Drainage and Ventilation: The MB-SR50N HI+ system achieves proper water drainage and facade ventilation through an overlapping mullion-transom connection that facilitates cascade-style drainage and ventilation of glazing sections. It offers two methods of drainage and ventilation: collective (applying to all elements) and individual for specific glazing panels or infills.

Flexible Sealing: Glazing panels and infills are secured by clamping strips applied to mullions and transoms. These are sealed from the outside using either two single EPDM gaskets or two single EPDM gaskets along with butyl tape. For roof skylights, two single gaskets and butyl tape are used. Internal glazing gaskets on mullions and transoms are also made of EPDM, with their height adjusting according to the applied glazing panel or infill.
